A new moon rises every day invisible,
swooped from deep pools of interstellar dust.
Planetesimal mammoth-whale, singled out in migration
from point of nowhere to infinity. A fleeting catch
in blue-meshed dip of time.

Telescoped, we raise our hands and wave.
Numeric, our greeting chant is pitched
beyond the atmospheric rim
where cosmic swarms break scintillating,
while our brief moonlet sweeps inconsequenced,
undips in freeing nuanced moments. Leaves blue
ink letter trace on paper, luminesces
on cave walls in our minds.
