Crimson Rust
by Angela Braru, Regular Contributor
Champagne sky with sparkling stars
Crazy morning with beauty scars
So I see you feel accomplished today
While you erase the words I say.
This is a vineyard of toxicity
And overarching sublimity
Hello is the final goodbye
You think you’re kissing the sky.
No, you’re not; you never could
That pedestal on which you stood
Is not real, wake up before it’s late
The love is turning into hate.
The world is ending tonight
The fire seems extremely bright
We’ll all burn before the poison intake
And Juliet’s love is left at stake.
So, happy dagger shall rest again
In a sheath that’s a house of pain
And I’ll tell you the story of us
How it’s now the crimson rust.
We’ll get hurt, we surely will
And then I’ll sit by the windowsill
The rain shall fall on the burning land
But this time, I will not take your hand.
