One year AFTER what I had assumed
would be The Immediate End of Mankind.
Time to get political. It's hard when
one has become so cynical.
Hopefully, The Changes that have been made
are not irreversible. A Circle— We seem to be
walking in and around.
I listen to The Sound of The Leaves,
as they fall and alight 'pon The Ground and
The Spokane Streets [crunching underneath feet].
The Sun is out
and beaming high above
The Patchy Ice of early November snowfall.
I reflect and smile, thinking that We
are not ALL lost. Even though A Few
have since lost Their Ways amongst
The Dogmatic Battlefield of Ideas and Ideals.
Two poles adrift— further and further from one another
on an ever-expanding front.
WHAT DO YOU THINK?
WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT THE WAY
THAT THINGS SHOULD BE?
No simple solutions here.
A ballot, in My Pocket.
A BALLOT ready to be progressively CAST
and deposited through The Chrome Box slot,
at The Bus Terminal.
THIS STATE IS NOT NORMAL!
Though one day— it may be.
It may return— return to The Way THINGS
seemed to be headed,
before The Orange Man with Tiny Hands
led Us headlong into The Tweetstorm Maelstrom.
From The Heart— COMES LOVE.
And from The Love— COMES LIGHT.
Here IT is— The Dawn of Election Night.
Hopefully, You made The RIGHT Choice.
Otherwise, it is Your Voice that shall be LOST.
Even if A Single Vote seems A Shot in The Dark,
REMEMBER still, that that BALLOT—
THAT BULLET IN THE CHAMBER—
it is not only Yours, but,
IT IS YOUR RIGHT.
Make The Right Decision
'pon This American Election Night.
