Tears fill my eyes as I speak for you
Mother Nature! What have we come to

You care for us like little children still we
Prove ourselves to be as burdensome as can be

We give you scars, we make you bleed
We kill your other children, other creatures mercilessly

And yet you gave the gift of thought to us
We, who are the most treacherous!

How dare we think we are so wise!
When all we do is make our mother cry

Those animals you kill, those trees you cut
There was no fault of theirs and still yet

Do you not see even if you close your eyes
What we are doing to this Earth is the greatest vice

Wake up Oh human! Wake up ‘cause you are not asleep
Let’s join our hands and do something more than pity

For we have dared to destroy what we can’t create
The one that created us, Do you still not relate?

We are attacking our own roots in the most gruesome ways
Awake! Oh Human! We are digging our own graves!

For once just think of what if Mother Nature made excuses
To create us, or to give us the life we so proudly possess

It seems so wrong, we have wronged our own roots
It’s high time we stand up and that we prove

To be at the least grateful to our Mother!
No excuses, Let’s at least pray for our creator!

Let’s join our hands and our thoughts too
To protect the one, the smallest steps will do

You hear my whisper, you listen to the danger
Let’s prove ourselves worthy of the gift from our Mother!

Oh you realize you have felt the pain when your loved one dies
Can we not open our hearts to the pain in Earth’s eyes

This time is passing by you see, it will never come back
However hard we try we will still lack

Let’s magnify our vision and look at it through the heart
Let’s stop our Mother, before she chooses to depart!

Inspiration: “This is high time that the World comes together, to join hands to save Nature! We are not only destroying the habitat of Wild Animals, we are also deeply endangering the existence of all life forms, including Human Beings. This poem addresses the issue of Environmental Protection from the viewpoint of a little child who is deeply saddened with the way we are treating Mother Nature.” – Infinity
