Sunday night, World Series, game 5.
Nationals vs. Astros.
An unexpected visitor arrives:
the president.
One might think
that from the content of his tweets
that he would be met with
sweeping cheers of approval, by the people.
But that wasn’t the case.
40,000 fans, in attendance.
And of their number, a great majority brought forth
a jeer to remember:
“LOCK HIM UP! LOCK HIM UP!”
Your own favorite mantra, it has been turned against you.
Your venomous words, befouled with insolent vigor,
have come back to bite you,
the fangs of the viper of divine retribution are piercing.
But that won’t stopped you from tweeting, lying—
from denying what can only be known as: THE TRUTH
WHO among your cult-like following will suck out the poison?
WHO shall sacrifice their lives, their careers,
their last lingering semblance of self-respect
to fall on the doubled-edged sword THIS TIME?
There’s nobody left except YOU, Mr. Presidon’t.
And YOU are to blame; ‘tis all a game.
Putin’s Orange Obscenity, YOU have brought shame upon us.
And a god-like status to yourself.
Listen close, little man with the big plans:
we have grown tired of your ugliness,
your unchecked racism, your frivolous antics & sexism.
Know that these past few years have drawn ON for
what has felt like an eternity.
But the time is drawing towards what could be the end.
There is only one year left, to go.
May you know that your time, it draws nigh.
AND MAY YOU FINALLY
LISTEN TO THE CRIES OF YOUR PEOPLE.
Will you be able to pull out of this tailspin?
Yeah, right...
YOU DON’T EVEN KNOW WHERE TO BEGIN.
