“I wish everyone could feel poetry the way I sometimes can. I lately have been drawn to erasure poetry and its powerful combination of the visible and audible, but it’s been years since I have attempted it. I’m no artist and the colors and chaos came in layers. But here it is, the perfect transcript to my invented conversations with the President. People may misquote me, but I keep going back to the burning words in yellow: our country, us, oaths, America. I can say, with these poems, we put America first; I’m not sure Trump can say the same.” – Jennifer Edwards
