The levy

I received a speeding ticket for
going five over the limit while
driving to Toronto;

the ticket stated the punishment as
being $42.50.

Yet, the final cost on the mailed
to me ticket told me I owed
them $160 total.

Truly. This is a real story, so only
a poem in a structure sense.

Is this is the ‘small state’ conservatives
continue to speak of?

Is this the ‘Police Lives Matter’
ideology that tells me about the
lack of respect?

How do people pay $117.50 in fees
to the Police?

Here I mean, how do they physically
find ways to manage this, or how to
they endure it spiritually?

Worse, how do others find ways to justify this?
