she cries for food, cries for her dad, we all cry for her dad. she has his hair, that auburn-colored fire that sits upon her like strands of sun shining through falling water.

at this time, she does not know she has a sister. she doesn’t know the color blue from red, even though they are incomparable.

she met her big sister, comforting to her, a small caged dragonfly. her big sister did not want to stop holding it. they day they met is hard to tell, as it was very elemental like wind. sisters have a connection like no other could have in the world, close enough to share skin, though her’s is darker somehow.

she cries for dad, everyone seems to cry for dad. it is most frustrating for her cause disease should be as simple as eating banana slices. just make them go away, off your plate, go.

5

she understands sick hearts, but no one else in kindergarten does.

she got stung by a bee for the first time and asks, “is this was a heart attack feels like?”

6

she eats a lot of quesadillas, cause daddy makes them. he teaches her how to paint and it is as if everything is repeated, as if 2005 is happening all over again.

7

she gets her cholesterol checked.
