Floating in the flat black pacific
Wetsuit on he sees
The police chase on the boardwalk
Looking east his vision blurs
Point Pleasant Virginia
A ship comes into view
20 enslaved Africans on board
Asking what year did man go to the moon
Flat footed they chase the young brother
The cops pull guns
The sun has not come up yet
They fire
One of the twenty waits for the full moon
And been  there 10 years
He runs
Horses give chase
They catch him
And strip him then whip him
Buck break him next to the field house
The young brother makes it to the basketball
Court
The cops shoot him down
Flat black pacific ocean stays calm
He paddles back in
Wetsuit off
He lights one
And smokes
Drives to math class
At UCLA
What is the difference between a good education and a good eulogy….
