Asayel Slay is a Saudi rapper who posted a video on YouTube about being a Saudi woman in Mecca (“Mecca Girl”). No profanity, no pornography, no violence, just a woman rapping about being proud to be a woman in a city she’s proud to live in. Prince Khalid bin Faisal, the governor of Mecca province, found it offensive and called for her arrest. It’s misogynoir in action.
