Cell thinking
About the blood spilled across bridges
Bone marrow freedoms vote across state
lines handcuffed freedom fighters standing up
before cell phone videos defeats still climbing
towards a  mountain vista all this scribbled on
shit paper before routine executions
No buck breaking
No limb castrations
No tar and feathering
No lunch ropes
Just bullets with names on them
AIMED
Sit there in this room of no return
What have you been
     Subjected too
    What have you
           Been subjected too
What was this sentence
Before it was written behind bars
Even a poem is imprisoned on the page
  Before it is erased
More Brothers in print not in
Prison is not  Rothko painting…….

Written for all the men I taught poetry class to in prison.

Killah Shark was a member of Hittite Empire Black Men Performance Art group and, among many other projects, is a regular contributor to Headline Poetry & Press.  Killah communicates through Terse Verse. Terse Verse is a very short form of poetry which starts with an impressive sounding question or statement and is solved by a short rhyme. He engages the form in a specific way; weaving personal mythologies with history to challenge the internal, to organically inspire social justice from within.
