When I hear their words of hate,
righteous anger fills me and
my palms itch.
Remembering the way the hilt of a knife feels.
My eyes look for weak places to attack.
My hatred rises, not for them, but
for their power.
Because of them, what could have been
is no more.
What gives them the right to deny my future?
Our future?
