She was in the mirror.
She was smiling when I wasn’t.
She had three arms in total.
The third was a stolen gift
That I always wanted for me.

I wanted golden dreams, she had them.
I wanted silver linings, she had them.
I wanted white light, she had it.
She wanted nothing, I had it all.

And her wings were the right colour,
Mine too dark.
Dark, not like the night sky
Dark, like the killer mood.
She didn’t need the stars, I did.
And I hid them all with one wink.

And she had the man of my life
While I crumpled by their side.
So dark was tonight
I couldn’t whisper lullabies
And I whimpered with fright
While she danced by my side.

I had the mind of a child
But the will of a knight
And she had infinity
For time was never on my side.
So one had to fall,
And fall and fall till the end of time.
She was the White to my Black
But Black never dies.
