Colours
by Leela Soma

There will be time, there will be time
to eat an apple, fresh from the tree,
feel the spray of the ocean blue,
to stand on the wet grass, smell
the fragrance of  blossoms.

There will be time, there will be time
to seek knowledge from dog-eared books,
knit a scarf of rainbow colours for the needy,
sew  vibrant- hued quilts with kapok fibres,
from monochrome to periwinkle blue.

There will be time, there will be time
to experience sun bathing on grass
on an orange silky Eastern summer,
to return to life as we know it.
