I dreamt that it was all a dream;
That you dreamt of me dreaming of you.
Planting deceptive inceptions
Of each other’s existence.
You were real, I was real.
We could fly like birds, without wings.
Life was an annihilated paradox
And we, mere words in a sentence.
We could feel each other for real.
But I dreamt that it was all a dream.
I wish that it is all a dream;
That I’ll wake up tomorrow without a fright
And bask in the sun for days to come.
That I’ll see that fellow I dreamt of once
And shake hands with another.
I’ll bend over the railing to spot your face
And then give you a hug, a real one.
But oh, that’s something we can’t do
Catching death is the new game we play.
I wish that it is all a dream.
