Coffee mugs be chilling tonight,
Wine glasses clink together
And sky is a heavy delight
With a sick, romantic weather.

Oh how come do the birds sing
A birthday song that isn’t for you?
And in their beaks do they bring
Birthday presents oh so blue?

Far away I see your face
A face that is one full moon;
Behold, I send a virtual embrace
Which, I hope, will reach you soon.

So another book in hand this time
And three more papers to write,
I thought that we were in our prime
Of midnight kisses, party nights.

My wine glass has juice in it,
(But made of grape, I want to add)
Wash your hands, candles lit
My bold boredom is iron-clad!

Hello to your narrowed eyes,
The battles that you always fight
I don’t match your lows and highs,
Being upset is a basic right!

And hello to my chocolate cake
What a mate you’ve been to me!
In my mind, I swim in lakes
It will be a timeless dream!

I see fire in my veins
So I write before it goes,
Once my mood was in chains,
But now its fighting all my foes.

Clinking wine glasses speak
Of when I wore my mega boots,
This quarantine is way too weak
To prick my flying parachute!
