There is some

science

behind this

Greek roots

to explain

the red spikey ball

they keep

showing us all

on the news

between shots

of thin shades

in weak blues

are masked faces

wincing

on packed

subway cars

lit by the heat

cross your heart

bare your arms

find your knees

try to breath,

try to breath,

try to breath,

and then rasp

out your prayers

to the stars.

  1. So good — really expressive and true to the moment. I love this poet.
